Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a solution applied to the skin to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the production of new skin cells. The treatment will take approximately 30 minutes. After application you will experience a feeling of warmth and perhaps a tingling sensation. This will last 1 - 2 minutes. The skin may appear slightly pink and feel a little tight after the treatment, however this will subside very quickly. The new cells will begin generating after 2 - 4 days and you may notice a fine scaling of old cells. You should be able to continue work and social activities but may require some extra moisturizer in the first week after the peel.

It is important to protect your skin from sun exposure after treatment with a chemical peel. A broad spectrum sunscreen should be used as part of your daily skin regime.
